The strangest thing happened to me this weekend. I’ve been after a Nintendo Wii for a while now and as you probably know they’ve been a bit hard to find.

They completely sold out over Christmas and reports of deliveries have been vague with “Mid January” being the usual answer.

I woke up on Saturday with the sentence “phone Game in Islington, they have Wiis on stock” in my head. I crawled out of bed at 11am with a dreadful hangover and rummaged around in my coat for my phone, sat over on the sofa with my laptop, looked up the number and gave them a call.

“Hello, Game Islington”
“Have you got any Wiis in stock?”
“Yeah we have a few”

Hell yeah! I managed to persuade them to hold on to one for me for an hour and jumped in the shower before dashing down to pick it up.

I bought…

1x Wii console with Wii Sports game
1x Wario Ware Smooth Moves game
1x Legend of Zelda – Twilight Princess game
1x Super Monkey Ball Bananna Blitz game
1x Wiimote
1x Nunchuck controller

Apparently they had five delivered just as I was calling, and they sold out in minutes.

How spooky is that?
