Candylion is the new album by Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys – It’s quite good.

I have never really checked out Super Furry Animals and I’m not really sure why. Maybe I should because I really like this record. Excellently produced, it’s kinda retro, fuzzy, warm and psychedelic without being overly kitsch. I’d not heard the awesome title track either but apparently it was released as a single at the end of last year. Apparently the strings are by Sean O’Hagan, the bloke out of The High Llamas too (Never heard them either). Dead good.

Dear Gruff Rhys and Super Furry Animals. I am sorry I ignored you. If the rest of your stuff is half as good as this I’ll call myself a fan.
